JoAnn Poole McCollum

Mrs. Jo Ann Poole McCollum, age  82 of Toccoa passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the Wilkinson Center in Toccoa.

A daughter of the late Hugh Dorsey Poole and Thelma Barnes Poole she was born October 7, 1939 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life.  She was a graduate of Toccoa High School.  She was retired from Reliable Electric, a member of Hill Street Baptist Church, a life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and a member of the Stephens County Historical Society.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John McCollum, Sr. in 2008.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John H. McCollum, Jr. and Candice of Toccoa; grandchildren, Jessica McCollum(Caramie) and Adam McCollum; great-grandchildren, Rowan McCollum and Collier Jo McCollum; two brothers and sister-in-law, Larry Poole of Toccoa and Donald and Nancy Poole of Oakwood, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Sara and Henry Coker of Toccoa.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 5, 2022, 2 o’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty and The Reverend Paul Garrison officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday from noon until the service time.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Flowers are optional.  Memorials may be made to Hill Street Baptist Church, P.O. Box B, Toccoa, Georgia 30577 in memory of Mr. Jo Ann Poole McCollum.

Interment will follow in the Toccoa City Cemetery with The Reverend Butch Franklin officiating. Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Jo Ann Poole McCollum.
