Sheila Thomason Allen, age 64 of Demorest, Georgia was called to her heavenly home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 following a tenacious battle with cancer.
Born in Demorest, Georgia on December 23, 1957, she was a daughter of the late Gerald & Mary Jane “Janie” Thomason. Sheila was a graduate of Habersham Central High School, Class of 1975 and pursued a career in medicine. She worked as a Pharmacy Technician at Habersham Medical Center, Northeast Georgia Medical Center, and the Lee Arrendale State Correctional Facility with over 40 years of dedicated service. Sheila was an avid reader, loving mother, and devoted wife. Sheila’s greatest blessing was welcoming and spending time with her lone surviving granddaughter, Piper Oaklyn Allen, who shares her grandfather’s namesake. Sheila’s legacy will continue to live on through the lives of her husband, two sons, & granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Warren Thomason and by her father-in-law, Coleman Allen.
Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, Oaklon Allen of Demorest, GA; sons, Blake Allen & Mark Allen; granddaughter, Piper Oaklyn Allen all of Athens, GA; brothers, Glenn Thomason of Mount Airy, GA; & Gerald Thomason of Cornelia, GA; mother-in-law, Della Mae Allen of Clarkesville, GA; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Bart & Kim Allen of Winder, GA; special aunt & caregiver, Linda McAllister of Augusta, GA; 2 aunts, 1 uncle, several cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, & her canine companion, Charlie.
Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 05, 2022 at Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville with Rev. Austin Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Gardens Cemetery with Evangelist Mike Randall officiating at the graveside.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
