Evelyn Fowler Murray

Mrs. Evelyn Fowler Murray, age 79 of Julia Court, Toccoa passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the Stephens County Hospital.

A daughter of the late J.D. Fowler and Viola Segars Fowler, she was born October 22, 1942 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Stephens County.  She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.  She loved her church, enjoyed her grandchildren, enjoyed being outdoors and vacations with her sisters, loved people and caring for everyone.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Ledford and Laverne Carlan.

Survivors include her husband of the home, Tex Murray; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Roger Arowood, Carla Murray and Lori Crowe all of Toccoa and Alea and Lance Yarborough of Collierville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Scott Arowood, Brandon Crowe, Chris Crowe, Logan Morris and Kayla Morris; great-grandchildren, Easton Arowood, Remi Arowood and Zoey Crowe; sister, Martha Ivester of Toccoa.

Funeral services will be Sunday, February 27, 2022, 3 o’clock p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church with The Reverend Stacy Penland and The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Scott Arowood, Roger Arowood, Shane Kelley, Brandon Crowe, Alfred Galloway and Michael Collins.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Prospect Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements.
