Jean Nix Anderson

  Jean Nix Anderson, age 96, of Dahlonega passed away on February 12^th, 2022 with her family by her side.  She was born in Carroll County Georgia on June 29^th, 1925.  Jean’s life, love, and hobbies were grounded in her faith and centered around her family. Whatever her family was doing, she was doing including sporting events, parties, gardening, and mostly cooking.  She brought her family together centered around her famous recipes and her dining table. 

Jean graduated from nursing school at the age of 52 and was a dedicated head nurse with the American Red Cross. She traveled the state of Georgia to secure life saving blood donations, retiring in her 70’s.

Jean, known as “Memaw” to her family and loved friends in Dahlonega, was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Nix and Jessie Hollingsworth; Spouse Raynard Edward Anderson “Pop Pop”;  daughter and son, Margaret Elizabeth Hughes “Peggy” and Robert Nix Archer “Bobby”. There is no doubt that they all welcomed her home to heaven.

Jean is survived by her son, Kenneth Lee Archer and daughter-in-law Susan Archer; daughter, Amy Archer Booker and son-in-law Mike Booker. Grandchildren Anna Archer, Brittney Nolan, Shannon Marler, Megan Gordon, Katy Hong, Brad Hughes, Austin Booker, Josh Booker, and twelve wonderful great grandchildren with one on the way!
