Mary Louise Kent, 96, of Dawsonville passed away Monday February 14, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 4, 1925, Miss Kent had been a resident of Dawsonville for most of her life. A member of Sweetwater Baptist Church, she was a talented seamstress who enjoyed the outdoors, flowers, and gardening. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister and daughter who worked extremely hard caring for all of her family throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Loland and Ethel Darnell; husband, James Kent; daughters, Shirley Jean Kent, Alesia Blanton; grandsons, Shane Thurmond, Jamie Kent; sons-in-law, Terry Thurmond, Everett Evans; sisters, Myrtis Ray, Mamie Reeves, Mildred Lowe.
Surviving are her daughters and sons in law, Lucille Evans, Sybil Thurmond, Mary Ellen Kent, Pam Smith and Terry Turner; sons and daughters in law, Joe and Ruth Kent, Larry and Peggy Kent; sister, Gladys Bennett, all of Dawsonville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 16, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tim Hubbard and Rev. Rodney Pilcher will officiate. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday February 15 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
