Ray Junior Arwood, age 92, of Clarkesville, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022.
Born on April 14, 1929, in Hiawassee, he was a son of the late Glen Mayberry Arrowood and Zora Bell Arrowood. He was also preceded in death by son, Curtis Arrowood. Mr. Arwood was a sawmiller at Church’s Sawmill. He was a “jack of all trades”, liked to fish, repair small engines and loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Maxwell Arrowood of Clarkesville; sons and daughters-in-law, James Arrowood (Dorothy) of Clarkesville, Earnest “Byrd” Arrowood (Pam) of Clarkesville, Benny Arrowood; brother and sister-in-law, William Arrowood (Brenda) of Cornelia, 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 1 pm on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Clarence Reynolds, Rev. George Dean and Rev. Terry Benfield. Interment will follow at Blue Creek Cemetery with Rev. David Rudeseal officiating at the graveside.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
