Mr. Willie Taylor, Jr., age 74 of Easy Street, Toccoa passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the Stephens County Hospital.
A son of the late Will Taylor, Sr. and Fannie Mae McConnell Taylor, he was born January 15, 1948 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived all his life in Stephens County. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during Vietnam and was a Sergeant of the 1st 5th Air Calvary. He owned and operated Willie’s Auto Repair and was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved wrestling and western movies. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Ann McCroskey Taylor, by a son, Kendall Taylor, three brothers, Grady, Jimmy and Andrew Taylor and by a sister, Dorothy Taylor.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sherell and Anthony Adams and Kristie and Russell Tudor both of Toccoa; grandchildren, Brandi Linkous (Steven), Brian Taylor (Kassi), Bridget Adams (Brandon), Brandon Taylor (Christa), Blake Taylor (Kattie), Lexi Holbrooks, Kally Outz; great-grandchildren, Justin, Kiari, Khloe, Aidan, Sophia, Kailyn, Wyatt, Jaxon, Axel, Kenzlie, Piper, Maverick and one on the way; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Sarah Taylor of Martin and Edward Taylor of Toccoa; sister, Edna Ruth Taylor Shirley of Toccoa.
Funeral services will be Sunday, February 13, 2022, 2 o’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Marvin Brown and The Reverend Ralph Smith officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Brandon Taylor, Brian Taylor, Blake Taylor, Lee Woody, Kenneth Heaton and Junior Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Taylor, Kevin Taylor, Buck Bowen, Brett Deitz and Rusty Taylor; a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the home and Brandon and Christa Taylor, 4575 Nub Garland Road, Toccoa and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m and noon until service time on Sunday. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Toccoa City Cemetery with Military Honors by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the V.F.W. Post 4346 Honor Guard. Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Willie Taylor, Jr.
