Mr. Silas Joseph Pilgrim, age 95 of E. Tugalo Street, Toccoa passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the Stephens County Hospital.
A son of the late Paul and Sadie Tucker Pilgrim, he was born March 19, 1926 in Carnesville, Georgia having lived most of his life in Stephens County, Georgia. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, retired from Coats and Clark with a long number of years of service, a member of The Pointe and a member of Masonic Lodge #309. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in by siblings, Sue Ward, Ann Moore, Emmie Kellar, Bill Pilgrim and Howard Pilgrim.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Elnora Dunson Pilgrim of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Michael Beecher of Toccoa; son, Ken Pilgrim of Chattanooga, Tennessee; grandchildren, Ryan and Jaimy Beecher, Justin and Ann Elizabeth Beecher, Leah and Bradley Chambers, Kaitlin Pilgrim and Alex Pilgrim; great- grandchildren, Ocean, Uriah, Blaze, Galilee Rose, Sawyer, Nate and Julia; sisters, Mildred Pruitt, Deanie Collins and Pauline Brown all of Toccoa; brother, Roger Pilgrim of Athens, Georgia.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 12, 2022, 11 o’clock a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with family members officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Alex Pilgrim, Dale Payne, Justin Beecher, Mark Cantrell, Ray Clark and Ryan Beecher. Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Beecher.

Interment will follow in the Middle River Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Silas Joseph Pilgrim.
