Denyse Sherley Blanchard passed away on February 7, 2022, at her home, in Sautee, Georgia, with her family by her side. She was born on March 10, 1963, in Peterborough, New Hampshire, to Marlene L. Grendell and the late Gerald S. Blanchard. Her battle with cancer over the past few years showed her courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile. Denyse was a hero to the end.
In addition to her mother, Denyse is survived by her son Preston E. Biggers and daughter-in-law Madison T. Biggers; sister Vicki L. Blanchard; brother Gerald (Jay) S. Blanchard, Jr.; nieces Jessica Crane and Cassi-Mae Gelinas; nephews Benjamin W. Crane and Cameron T. St. John. Great nephews, friends, and other relatives also survive.
No other mother on this earth loved her son more than Denyse loved Preston. She met the love of her life, Frederick (Rick) Rayfield, 10 years ago. She would tell you, “I got the best man; I won!” She loved her family so much. Denyse knew no boundaries when it came to having a good time and living life to its fullest; if you knew Denyse, then we don’t have to tell you this. From a child riding around on her pony through the backwoods of East Washington, New Hampshire, to riding topless in her T-Top down Roswell Road in Atlanta to hanging out with friends around a campfire doing cartwheels. There is no doubt she’s up in Heaven raising cain.
Denyse was a dental assistant and ran her own housekeeping business. She was an avid gardener with the greenest thumb. Denyse loved to go to the garden centers, grab the dried-up wilted flowers for pennies on the dollar, and bring them back to life. Like her plants, she loved animals and was an animal momma to many horses, cats, and dogs.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Friday, February 11, 2022, in the Community Hall of the Sautee-Nacoochee Cultural Center- 283 Highway 255 North, Sautee-Nacoochee, Georgia 30571.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local animal shelter in remembrance of Denyse.
