Betty Rose Orders White

Obituary Date: Monday, February 7, 2022

Betty Rose Orders White of Gainesville, GA, passed away on February 7, 2022, after suffering a severe stroke.  Born on November 21, 1929, in Morganton, NC, to Gorman Lee Orders and Monnie Brittain Orders. She was the youngest daughter and middle child having two older sisters and two younger brothers. Betty was the last to pass away.  Betty married her childhood sweetheart, Joseph Clinton White, of Glen Alpine, NC, celebrating 69 years of happy marriage. They were scheduled to celebrate their 70th anniversary April 20, 2022.

Betty and Joe moved to Gainesville, GA in 1958, and they were an active part of the Gainesville Community ever since.  She worked as nurse at Hall County Hospital, and later as a nurse at Brenau University.  Betty was blessed with a "servant’s heart". She was an active member in the 1st Presbyterian Church of Gainesville, and many community organizations such as Beta Sigma Phi, the Heart Association, and the Hall County History Center. Betty was the mother of three children; Rosie (deceased), Randy, and Ben.

Betty is survived by her loving husband Joe C White; her two sons and their (spouses); Randy White (Gail) and Ben White (Kim); her grandsons Joe White (Allie), Russell White (Sarah), Matt Lehr (Shannon) and Drew Lehr; her granddaughters Mary White Bononato (Rafa), Emily White Amack (Nate), and Susie White; and her great grandkids Isabel and Lucas Bononato, Lucy Amack, and William White.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at the Phoenix Assisted Living Facility in Gainesville, GA, and the Hospice Staff at NE Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.

Visitation for family and friends will be at Little-Davenport Funeral Home on Friday, February 11th from 6 PM to 8 PM.  Funeral services will be at the First Presbyterian Church, on Saturday, February 12th at 11 AM with a reception to follow.
