Dorothy Laverne Fowler

Mrs. Dorothy Laverne Fowler Carlan, age 83 of Seminole Drive, Toccoa passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022 at the Stephens County Hospital.

A daughter of the late J.D. and Lessie Segars Fowler, she was born December 18, 1938 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life.  She was employed with Wright’s Manufacturing for a number of years and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Carlan in 2014 and by a sister, Helen Ledford in 2018

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Larry Rickman of Toccoa; grandchildren, Clay and Heather Rickman and Susan and Bryon Bennett; great-grandchildren, Paisley Bennett, Bailey Dobbs, Olivia Bennett; sisters and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Tex Murray and Martha Ivester both of Toccoa.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 9, 2022, 2 o’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Stacy Penland officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Clay Rickman, Bryon Bennett, Shane Kelley, David Simons, Bill Vickery and Tex Murray.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from noon until the service time.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Nails Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating.
