Keith R. Hager

Born Keith R. Hager in Louisville, KY March 12, 1947 and graduated from Manual High School in Louisville. He married Gracie Frances Sipple September 1, 1967 in Louisville and celebrated 54 years of marriage. They have 4 children: Kimberly Dunn (Jim), Cynthia McDonald (Chris), Ronald Hager (Sheila), and Melissa Wooten (Jeff), all living in Georgia. Included in the family are 11 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. He has one surviving sister, Kathleen Mellenkamp of Kentucky. His parents, Catherine LaDuke Hager and Raymond V. Hager, and sisters, Donna Viers Davis and Rita Kay Davis preceded him in death. He attended Eastern KY University, served as a medic in Vietnam and retired from Boles Parts Supply in 2016 when he was diagnosed with CLL.

Retirement meant a new direction in life for Keith. Despite many doctor visits, Keith decided to take trips to do the many activities he’d never had time for. Vacations with family members, revamping homes, working to repurpose pieces of furniture and creating, making, designing and decorating over 200 Christmas sleds gave his life purpose. He delighted in giving theses sleds to family, friends, and church members. Each day was an adventure! He enjoyed being a member of Ivy Creek Baptist Church of Buford, GA and especially enjoyed VBS and the children. Donations may be given to the building fund. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Dr. Craig Dale officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 7 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will be at GA National Cemetery in Canton, GA on February 17, 2022.
