Robert Lee Standridge

Mr. Robert Lee Standridge, 75, of Gainesville, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2022 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Cameron Standridge and Rev. Kody Rylee will officiate. Interment will follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Thursday, February 3rd and Friday, February 4th from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on March 21, 1946 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Otho Frank Standridge and Lucille Smith Grant. Mr. Standridge was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was retired from the City of Gainesville Fire Department after 33 years of service and attended Timber Ridge Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Standridge was preceded in death by his grandson, John Michael McConnell, II and brother, Roger Standridge.

Mr. Standridge is survived by his wife of 57 years, Debbie Gibbs Standridge of Gainesville; daughter, Stephanie Standridge McConnell and John of Alto; grandsons and wives, Cameron and Nataly Standridge, Austin and Erin Standridge, Avery and Kerri Standridge; granddaughter, Koraleigh McConnell; great-grandchildren, Kacelyn, Elizabeth, Kamden and Charlie Standridge; stepfather, Hank Grant of Gainesville; sister, June Greene of Hendersonville, TN; brothers and sisters in law, Bobby and Angie Standridge of Cleveland, Ricky and Phylliss Standridge of Lula; sister in law, Elaine Tennant of Douglasville; niece, Brianna Guyton of Maysville and several nieces and nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
