Jimmy Waldrep

Jimmy Waldrep, age 85, of New Holland, GA, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Geneva R. Waldrep; mother, Clara Mae Cantrell; father, Manley Waldrep; and brother, Eddie Waldrep.  Mr. Waldrep is survived by his children, Sheila Waldrep, Carla Waldrep, Joseph Waldrep (Michelle), Benjamin Waldrep (Christy) all of Gainesville, GA; grandchildren, Jacob Waldrep, Katelyn Martin, Alayna Waldrep, Noah Waldrep; sisters, Geraldine Roper of Gainesville, GA, Donna Noll (Bart) of Cleveland, GA, Sandra Roberts (Stanley) of Gainesville, GA; sisters-in-law, Sue Waldrep of Gainesville, GA, Vera Roberts of Seneca, SC; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Waldrep was born on July 21, 1936, in New Holland, GA.  He was retired from General Motors Assembly Plant in the Maintenance Department, Doraville, GA, after 51 years of service.  Mr. Waldrep was a member and Deacon of New Holland Baptist Church and member of UAW Local 10.  He was an  avid wood carver. Mr. Waldrep was a volunteer rescue scuba diver for Hall County, GA for  several years.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 2:00 pm.at New Holland Baptist Church in Gainesville (7 Quarry St).   In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Food Ministry, 1220 McEver Rd, Gainesville, GA 30504 or online at cbamissions.org.
