Thomas D. Miles (Tom), 82, of Lula, GA peacefully passed away at his home on February 1, 2022 after a brief battle with COVID pneumonia. Tom is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sue Miles of Lula, GA, daughter Nichole Miles of Duluth, GA, brother-in-law, Lowell P. Crabtree of Maryville, TN, brother-in-law J. B. Crabtree of Honaker, VA, sister-in-law, Fran Reagan of Frankfort, IN, and numerous nieces and nephews scattered across the states.
Tom was a Vietnam veteran serving in Air Force Intelligence (USAFSS), stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska. He served as a state patrol officer in Maryland, was a professor at Brenau University and North Georgia Tech, and a guidance counselor/professor at Piedmont University. However, the priority of his life was studying the Word of God. Apart from his family, his greatest joy came from teaching the Word and using it in his counseling ministry. He had a passion for bringing people along in their understanding of the grace message.
Tom’s legacy will be his love and friendship given to others and the impact he made on their lives: such a wise, tender, kind, and joyful man.
Family and friends will be celebrating his life on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 11am in the chapel of Little Davenport Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA.
