Michael David McDaniel, Sr.

Michael David McDaniel, Sr. age 57 of Oakwood entered heaven Saturday January 29, 2022 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville with his family by his side.

Michael was born in Buford to Evelyn Collins Wallace & the late Reavie McDaniel. He worked with Atlanta Gas Light for 34 years as a service technician until his retirement. He loved the outdoors hunting & fishing, spending time with family & friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Corbin.

Left to cherish his memory, daughter, Miranda (Will) Merritt; son Michael David McDaniel, Jr.; mother of his children, Maria McDaniel; mother, Evelyn Wallace; sister, Cherlyn Swansey; niece, nephew & great niece & nephews, Zac Swansey & his daughter, Elizah, Lindsey (Thomas) Coggins & her children, Adalyn & Tyler. A host of other relatives and friends survive.

Funeral services honoring Michael will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday February 1, 2022 at the Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joel Shadburn & Rev. Jammie Fortner officiating. Burial will be in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday January 31, 2022 at the funeral home.
