Mr. Clark Marion Drake, age 85, of Nicholson, GA died Wednesday, January 27, 2022 at his residence. Mr. Drake was born in Colbert to the late Jesse Clinton “Clint” and Lillie Maude Tolbert Drake. The youngest of ten siblings, Mr. Drake served in the United States Navy and worked as an electrician before retiring from the University of Georgia. He was a treasured member of his community, always ready to lend a hand to help his neighbors and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Drake was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Ann Shelton Drake in 2019; siblings, J.C. Drake, Jr., Betty Joe Drake, Rachel Drake, Guy Drake, Howard Drake, Jesse “Bud” Drake, Mary Drake Stewart, David Drake and Nina Mae Drake Kesler.
Mr. Drake is survived by his sons, John Drake of Nicholson, Rev. Eric Drake (Tara) of Colbert and Darren Drake (Brennen) of Watkinsville; grandchildren, Teri Drake-Floyd (Blake) of Nicholson, Ashley Drake of Loganville, Jessica Jackson of Commerce, Christopher Drake of Athens, Mia and Kathryne Drake of Watkinsville; and great-grandchildren, Izabella Jackson, Callum Floyd, Airylin Washburn and Eli Jackson.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Monday, January 31 graveside at Kidd Cemetery, Colbert with Rev. Carlos Sibley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3 to 5 PM.
