Fostelle Pittman

Obituary Date: Tuesday, January 25, 2022

Fostelle Pittman, 93, of Dawsonville passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.

Born August 22, 1928 to the late Shafter and Margie Tucker, she had lived in Dawson County for the past 54 years having moved from Atlanta.  Along with her husband, they owned and operated a poultry and cattle farm.  Fostelle was an accomplished seamstress, loved making bereavement bears for hospice families, and was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.  Until her declining health, she was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Lee E. Pittman, and a son, Richard “Ricky” Pittman.

The family wishes to thankfully acknowledge Mrs. Pittman’s caregivers, Heather Waters, Nicole Schandera, Stephanie Wooten, Chelsea Hatfield, Shirley Stotts, Denise Isles, A Helping Hand, and Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Surviving are her son and daughters in law, Neil and Debbie Pittman, Gainesville, Delores Pittman, Hancock County; grandchildren, Kenneth and Laura Pittman, Hancock Co., Mary-Katherine and Nicholas Drescher, Lawrenceville, Elizabeth and Taylor White, Dawsonville; and several great grandchildren.

Because of the current concerns of COVID-19, the family is planning a private interment service.
