Mrs. Jacqueline “Jackie” Hortense Floyd Lanier, age 91 of N. Savannah Street, Toccoa passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 at her residence.
A daughter of the late Ernest Noah Floyd and Belle Fulghum Floyd, she was born March 20, 1930 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Stephens County. She was retired from Coats and Clark with a number of years of service. She was a member of Hill Street Baptist Church, a member of the choir and responsible for making sure flowers were in the church each Sunday. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Lanier in 2011 and by a sister, Juanita Floyd in 2018.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Glenn Ramsey of Toccoa; son, Brion Lanier of Toccoa; grandchildren, Jessica and Peter Comeau, Sr. and Tiffany McCurry; great-grandchildren, Ashton Estes, R.J. Richardson, Malachi McCurry, Braxton McCurry, Brittney Comeau, Peter Comeau, Jr., Luke Comeau and Arianna Comeau; sister, June Stubbs of Perry, Georgia and Toccoa.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 27, 2022, 2 O’clock p.m. at Hill Street Baptist Church with The Reverend Paul Garrison and The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Peter Comeau, Sr., Peter Comeau, Jr., Ashton Estes, Randy Shirley, Danny Thompson and Roger Elrod.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Toccoa City Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Jacqueline “Jackie” Lanier.
