Mrs. Hazel Yearwood Cofer, age 100, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 at The Oaks of Braselton, surrounded by her family.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Union Baptist Church with interment following at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. Rev. Kenny Sizemore will officiate. Mrs. Cofer will Lie in State 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the church. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Nall, Tommy Nall, Bill McGuire, Conner McGuire, Bobby Gower, Cole Gower, Bill Jones and Scott Mulcay.
Mrs. Cofer was born April 19, 1921 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Neol Ebrascus and Gussye Ann Yearwood. She was a member of Union Baptist Church in Flowery Branch and retired from Georgia Regional Hospital, where she had been Director of Patient Accounts.
Mrs. Cofer is survived by her daughters, Jackie Kirkley, Jere Edmondson and Carey (Bill) Jones; grandchildren, Jimmy Nall, Tommy Nall, Amy McGuire, Jill Mulcay, Stacey Pearce and Kelley Capps; “bonus” grandchildren, Cole Gower and Abby Gower; great-grandchildren, Conner McGuire, Molly McGuire, Ava Pearce, Alexander Pearce, Harper Capps, Hayden Canady, Gavin Canady, Jennifer Grizzle, Ashley Flower, Hannah, Nall and Ella Mulcay; and great great-grandchildren, Raleigh Kate Grizzle, Jack Grizzle and Bennett Flowe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carey Paul Cofer and grandson, Jamey Edmondson.
