Leawella Elliot Deaton

Mrs. Leawella Elliot Deaton, age 89 of Toccoa, Georgia passed away January 20, 2022 in her home with her beloved children and animals.

Leawella’s life would seem too short to many, but to those of us who were blessed to be touched by her understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time she stayed here. In addition to being a loving mother she was an excellent worker and an encouraging friend. She was also a heroic blessing sharing love in her family both given by birth and chosen in life, always taking delight in caring for others and putting others before herself.

She worked at Wright’s Manufacturing, Miliken, and managed her rentals all at the same time for fifteen years. For twenty-seven years thereafter she continued to manage her rentals and family business.

As she passed over to paradise she was preceded in death by her husband Dave Lee Deaton, her brother Zebadee Thomas Elliot, a grandson Forest Tecumseh Garrett, and great grandson Jeremiah Howard. They are rejoicing together uninhibited by earthly bodies and run with delight through the fathered fields of grace.

Survivors include a son Randy M. Garrett of Toccoa; a daughter Carlene Garrett of Toccoa; grandchildren include Jesse and Stephanie Cresswell, Adam Levi Garrett, and Darren Howard; great grandchildren include Natalie Dees, Olivia Jewell, Jonah Jewell, Michael Howard, Waylon Howard, Elijah Howard, Caytlyn Howard, Emma Howard, and Roy Howard, and a multitude of friends and a community who cherish the lessons and laughter she brought us all.

Graveside services will be 2 PM Sunday, January 23, 2022 at the Stephens Memorial Gardens.
