W.O. "Jack" Reed, Jr.

W.O. "Jack" Reed, Jr., 92 of Gainesville passed away Wednesday January 19, 2022 at his residence.

Born in Monroe, Georgia, Mr. Reed had lived in Hall County for most of his life.  He was the son of the late W.O. Sr., and Lillie McEver Reed.  He was retired from the Georgia Poultry Lab, where he worked as an inspector. Mr. Reed was of the Baptist faith, and also served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Cronan Reed, Gainesville, son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Diane Reed, Gainesville, grandchildren, Amy Reed, Brian Failyer and Matt Failyer, all of Gainesville, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild also survive.

Mr. Reed is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Katheryn Elaine Reed Failyer.

Funeral services will be held Saturday January 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  Rev. Randall Hulsey will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Alta Vista Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions please be made to the Northeast Georgia History Center, 322 Academy Street, NE, Gainesville, Georgia 30501.
