Mrs. Sara "Frances" Thrasher, age 98 of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on May 14, 1923. Frances will forever be remembered by her friends and family as being loving, giving, patient and kind. She was a woman that many looked up to. She never had a mean bone in her body and was a true joy to be around. She was funny, and very hospitable. She was well known for her home cooked meals and could make the best Coconut Cream Pie that you had ever had. She was the worlds best at making birthdays special, as she would always send you a card wishing you a "Happy Birthday" and inside would be some of her very own artwork, usually in the form of a funny comic.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Luther Edward Thrasher; mother, Gertrude Peters; sons, Robert Edward Thrasher and Luther David Thrasher; siblings, Robert Dillard Peters and Katherine Barnette.
She is survived by her children, James Howard Thrasher of Dahlonega, Louis (Janet) Thrasher of Dahlonega and Cheryl (Phillip) Thrasher Dervan of Powder Springs; daughter-in-law, Carletta Thrasher; grandchildren, Michelle Alley, Christina Hopkins, Kristin Gil, Rochelle Thrasher, Kayd Thrasher, Reanna Hamilton, Jennie Thrasher and Joshua Thrasher; twelve great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 21, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the service hour on Friday. Interment will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 1:00 PM in Hillcrest Cemetery in East Point, Georgia.
