Betty Ruth Jones, 89 of Gainesville/ Forsyth County was called home to be with the Lord in the early hours of Saturday morning, January 15, 2022. She has left a hole in the hearts of many who knew and loved her, but we will be together again one day.
Ms. Jones had worked at the Lantern Inn for a number of years and was a member of Pine Crest Baptist Church.
Survivors include her step-daughters, Eugenia (Jeannie) Barron, Gainesville, Diana Kay Turner and fiancé, Jeff Stephens, Sharon Hamilton, Melissa Hamilton, all of Indiana; step-grandsons, Steven and Michele Barron, Michael Barron, all of Gainesville, Allen and Jack all of Indiana; step-granddaughters, Stacey, Angela, and Patricia all of Indiana; multiple step grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Jones, Gainesville; nieces, Debbie Jones, Lisa Butler and Vicki Masters, all of Gainesville; nephews Larry Jones and Mike Jones, Gainesville and a number of grand and great grand nieces and nephews.
Ms. Jones is preceded in death by her parents, Erastus S. and Nellie Ruth Jones; brothers, Earl, Jack and Harold Jones; sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Virginia Jones; niece, Linda Jones and grand-niece, Stephanie Jones.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 19, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Stephen Wood will officiate. Interment will follow in the Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and again Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
