Ms. Joan Black age 81 of Gainesville, Ga passed away on Monday January 17, 2022 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Graveside Services are scheduled for Thursday January 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at New Holland Cemetery. Reverend Levi Nix will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday January 19, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Joan was born on February 29, 1940 in Gainesville, Ga to the late Claude Black and Bonseal Croy Black. She was retired with the Hall County Tax Commissioner’s office and Leece- Neville, and was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Gainesville, Ga since its organization on 1969. She was a lifelong resident of New Holland. Joan’s passion was bring in the local Church, serving, loving and worshipping. She loved cooking and canning and feeding anyone and everyone who needed food. Ms. Black is preceded in death by her parents, brother, James “Skip” Black, family friends, Mark Guthrie and Wynelle Ransom.
Ms. Black is survived by her sister, Mildred “Mickie” Massey of Gainesville, sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Steve Rohr of Clermont, cousin, Rev. J.B. Seabolt of Cumming, extended family, Rev. Johnny and Judy Knight and Family of Commerce, Elaine Guthrie and family of Flowery Branch, Terry and Bobbie Ransom and family of Gainesville, Rev. Phillip and Karen Ransom and family of Gainesville, Rev. Steve and Teresa Merck and family of Cleveland, Ga and a multitude of cousins.
