It is with sadness, love, and profound gratitude, that the family of Andrew John Boubel, 88, announces his passing on January 11, 2022, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Braselton, GA.
A mass celebrating his life will take place Saturday, January 29 @ 11:30 @ Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church; 1775 Grove Street; Glenview, IL.
Andrew is survived by his children, Andrew J. Boubel Jr. (Amanda), Carolyn Boubel, Catherine Walch (Kevin), Peter Boubel(Heather); his grandchildren, Stephen & Laura Walch, Rachel & Samantha Boubel. He is preceded by his wife, Leda Marie, his brothers Nicholas, John and Roman Boubel, and his sister Eva Wiatr.
Andrew was born and raised in Chicago, IL where he received a scholarship to attend St. Ignatius College Prep School. After high school, he served in the air force for 4 years after which he attended college and graduated from Roosevelt University in Chicago. In 1960, he married his beloved wife of 52 years, Leda Auriemma. They settled in Glenview, IL where they lived and raised their 4 children. For many years, Andrew worked two jobs as a banker and for 40 years worked as a railroad switchman for CSX. In his younger years Andrew loved to play golf and later in life, he enjoyed playing cards and was a master jigsaw puzzler.
