Louise Hamby Wilbanks

Louise Hamby Wilbanks, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, met her Heavenly Father on January 15th, 2022. She was the fourth child of Lewis and Ellene Mullinax Hamby.  Born on September 11, 1935, she retired from the Department of Family and Children’s Services after a dedicated career helping those in need. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, cooking, and volunteering at Coal Mountain Baptist Church singing in the choir and serving in the kitchen.

She is survived by daughter Sheila and husband Ronald Green, sons Stanley and wife Robbie Wilbanks, Steven Wilbanks, Scott and wife Angie Wilbanks, Larry and wife Kathy Wilbanks, and daughter Cathy and husband Tim Hubbard, grandchildren Justin (Sommer) Green, Jared (Nichole) Green, Matthew (Trish) Wilbanks, Sam (Samantha) Wilbanks, Jason Wilbanks, Jacob Wilbanks, Casey Wilbanks, Thad (Robin) Hulsey, Lindsey (Zac) Pettee, Whitney (Derek) Bailey, Lauren Wilbanks (fiancé Luke Martin), Nathan Williams, Abby (Jeffrey) Bowman, TC Hubbard, Josh Hubbard, twenty seven great-grandchildren, and special friend, Ann Horton. She was preceded in death by her husband Gardie Wilbanks, as well as her parents Lewis and Ellene Mullinax Hamby, sisters Ethel Patterson Haney, Margie Ann Webb and Margaret Strayhorn, brothers Ed, Tom, David, and John Hamby.  She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 18, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Martin, Rev. Danny Bennett and Rev. Scott Wilbanks officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
