Irma Jean Christy

Ms. Irma Jean Christy, 79, of Gainesville passed away Friday, January 14, 2022 at her residence.

The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on April 30, 1942 in Clayton, GA, she was the daughter of the late James and Dessie Thomas Gordon. She was retired from Northeast Georgia Medical Center where she worked in Environmental Services.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Christy is preceded in death by her son in law, Greg Jackson; sisters, Lewellen Gordon, Annie Gordon, Mary McGahee, Sue Trotman, Stella Littleton, Hazel Davidson, Bo Hunter; brothers, Frank Gordon, Lee Gordon, Joe Gordon, Jackie Gordon; granddaughter, Krystal Kelly; grandson, Travis Sexton.

Ms. Christy is survived by her daughters and son in law, Sherrie Gordon of Gainesville, Barbara Jackson of Clermont, Tammy and Shawn Atkins of Lula; brothers, John Gordon of Clarkesville, Bob Gordon of Clayton, Bill Gordon of Greenville, SC, Arvid Gordon of Clayton; grandchildren, Wayne Stewart, Logan Jackson, Whitney Waters, Brian Bagwell, Katlyn Atkins; great grandchildren, Brianna Parker, Layney Parker, Olivia Clark, Joseph Sharp, Anden Atkins, Brinlee Jackson and a number of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
