Joseph Wayne Westmoreland

Joseph Wayne Westmoreland, age 81 of Helen and Ellijay, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022.

Mr. Westmoreland was born May 29, 1940, in White County to the late Birch and Cecilia Westmoreland. Mr. Westmoreland worked as an engineer for the Georgia Department of Transportation. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by numerous siblings.

Survivors include his wife Phyllis Westmoreland, Helen and Ellijay; brother and sister-in-law Neal and Catherine Westmoreland, Helen; sister Barbara Edwards, Tampa, Florida; stepdaughter and spouse other, Patsy Tatom and Greg Allen; stepdaughter and spouse, Pam and Jeff Wood; grandchildren Damien Tatom, Anna Wood and great grandchildren Ava Grace Tatom, Damien Slade Tatom and numerous extend.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:30 PM Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Yonah View Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:30 PM Tuesday prior to the funeral service.
