Raymond F. “Buddy” Thomason

Raymond F. “Buddy” Thomason, 76, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022.

Born February 18, 1945 in East Chicago, Indiana to the late Richard and Helen Thomason, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 19 years having moved from Forsyth County.  Buddy worked for many years as a concrete truck driver for TUCCO after which he was employed by Dawson County.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and anything outside.  A member of Dawsonville Baptist Church, he was also preceded in death by a son, Jeffery “Jeff” Thomason; and sisters, Frances Thomason and Jewell Harris.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Peggy Thomason, Dawsonville; sons and daughter in law, Shane Thomason, Smyrna, Jason and Melva Thomason, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Madison Thomason, Jeffery Thomason, Blaine Thomason, Noah Thomason; sisters, Hattie Milen, Ocoee, TN, Virginia “Gin” Moorhouse, Cleveland, TN; brothers and sisters in law, Roy and Mary Thomason, Ocoee, TN, Johnny and Judy Thomason, Benton, TN, Neil and Susie Thomason, Cleveland, TN, Lige Thomason, Benton, TN, Stevie and Christi Thomason, Lafayette, IN; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 1 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Corey Gilleland and Rev. Russell Burt will officiate.  Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
