Wayne Burnette, 71, of Dawsonville passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, January 7, 2022.
Born September 29, 1950 to the late H. B. and Virginia Burnette, he was a native of Forsyth County but had lived in Dawson County for the past 6 years having moved from Dahlonega. For many years he worked as doing masonry after which he was employed by Silver City Farms. Mr. Burnette was a licensed Baptist minister, enjoyed hunting, and was very dedicated to his family. A member of Amicalola Baptist Church, he was also preceded in death by his son, Kevin Burnette, and a stepson, Tony Woron.
Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Lisa Burnette, Dawsonville; children, Erick and Jody Burnette, Cumming, Kim and Dennis Roland, Cumming, Bobby Woron, Covington, Carla Woron, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Cody and Jessica Burnette, Levi Burnette, Trey Burnette, Ella Grace Roland, Avery Woron, Alyssa Woron, Presley Sikes, Virgil Woron, Jeremiah Kiefert; great grandchildren, Peyton Burnette, Everleigh Kiefert; sister and brother in law, Shelia and Joe Heard, Dawsonville; brother and sister in law, Doug and Jana Burnette, Dahlonega; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 10, 2022 at 2 o’clock at Amicalola Baptist Church. Rev. Joey Stewart and Rev. Tom Stradley will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 until 8 and again on Monday from 11 until 1 at the funeral home.
