Michael Edwin Johnson

Michael Edwin Johnson, 62 of Oakwood, Georgia died December 25, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Mike was born December 8, 1959 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina to Wilbur and Rose Johnson. His absence is felt by his wife Julie, daughter Lauren, son-n-law Jimmy Gault and grandson James David III of Oakwood Georgia. Also, sister Dail, brother-n-law Pete Worrell Rocky Mount, North Carolina, sister Marie, brother-n-law Gary Fulcher New Bern, North Carolina, sister-n-law Jill Gwinn Hampstead, North Carolina, lifelong friend Wayne Webb Rocky Mount, North Carolina as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mike was raised in North Carolina. He was a Christian, attended Emmanuel Holiness Church in Rocky Mount and played the drums for a gospel group. He moved to Georgia in 1985. Mike was known as a master of his craft-woodwork. He was able to make and fix anything. He loved his family, UNC Tarheels, grilling, music, camping and Ponce Inlet.

The family requests that you take a moment, remember Mike and his kindness, hug your loved ones and know that we are not guaranteed tomorrow.
