Rev. James “Palmour” Loggins, 94, of Dawsonville, Georgia passed away at his residence on January 3rd, 2022 and his beloved wife, Doris Hulsey Loggins, 87, of Dawsonville, Georgia passed away at her residence the following day on January 4th, 2022 following periods of declining health. Palmour and Doris were married for 71 years and separated in death by less than 24 hours.
Palmour retired from the Dawson County School System and was a preacher of the gospel since the 1960’s. Doris was an in-home childcare worker for many years.
They were both preceded in death by their parents. Palmour was preceded in death by six siblings and Doris was preceded in death by four siblings. They were also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Harry Flowers and grandson Dwayne Rider.
Surviving are their children; Diane (Ronnie) Flowers-Bozeman of Gainesville, Melvin (Sue) Loggins of Dawsonville, Connie (Randy) Austin of Dawsonville, Ray (Sandra) Loggins of Gainesville, Weba Loggins of Dawsonville, Emmanueal (Tonia) Loggins of Cumming; eleven grandchildren, LaDonna (Rusty) Hall of Dahlonega, Ken Loggins of Anderson, SC, Becky Rider of Dahlonega, Jenny (Miguel) Aguilar of Dawsonville, Ashley Gilreath of Gainesville, Jeremy (Holly) Austin of Cartersville, Jessica (Blake) Martin of Dawsonville, Brittany (JP) Jackson of Jefferson, Ethan (Kelli) Loggins of Jefferson, Autumn Loggins of Cumming, Skyler Loggins of Cumming; seventeen great-grandchildren; Palmour’s brother, Cliff Loggins of Murrayville; sister-in-law, Nell Loggins of Dahlonega; red-headed step-child, Kenny (Anita) Williamson of Cumming; numerous other extended family and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Palmour and Doris will be held Saturday, January 8th, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mike Owens, Rev. Kenny Williamson, and Rev. James Kanaday will officiate. Interment will follow in the Bethel Tabernacle Cemetery in Gainesville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 7th from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
