Thomas J. Madden, age 77 of Braselton, Georgia, passed December 30, 2021 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.
Tom was born in Tacoma, Washington on November 4, 1944 to Dr. Donald and Geraldine Madden. He spent his childhood growing up on the Southside of Chicago. He attended St. Ignatius High School and continued his education at the University of John Carroll where he received a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Biology. He proudly served his country for six years in the Marine Corps Reserves where he became a sergeant. On October 23, 1970, he married Diane (Flohr) Madden. They made their home for 51 years in Stone Mountain, Ga. There they established a successful business, Thomas J. Madden & Associates, Inc., selling emergency lighting and public safety equipment.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Dr. Donald and Geraldine Madden, and brother, Bill Madden. He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Madden; daughter, Colleen (Derek) Smith; sons, Geoff (Ellie) Madden and Jim (Ellen) Madden; sisters; Donna Gasiorowski, Ann Seckinger, Patty (Nick) Clancy, Lisa (Duke) Paciga; brothers, Dr. Jim (Sheila) Madden, Mike (Erica) Madden, Kevin (Shannon) Madden; and seven grandchildren.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church at 10:30a.m., 6439 Spout Springs Road, Flowery Branch, Ga with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Father Adam Blatt will officiate.
