Born July 15, 1931, in Gainesville, GA, Mrs. Ransom was the daughter of the late William Corbett Cooper and Dolya Inez Cantrell Cooper.  Mrs. Ransom was a Homemaker and a wonderful cook. She was First Lady of Temple Baptist Church for 42 years where she faithfully served by the side of her late husband, Dr. James Ransom. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ransom is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James Ransom, a granddaughter Christian Faith Guthrie, a son-in-law Jack Marcus Guthrie, one sister, Mozelle Glover and two brothers, James Cooper and William H. (Buck) Cooper and a number of in-laws.

Mrs. Ransom is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Judy Ransom Knight (Rev. Johnny); Elaine Ransom Guthrie; Teresa Ransom Merck (Rev. Steve); sons and daughters-in-law, Terry Ransom (Bobbie), Rev. Philip Ransom (Karen); 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters-in law Wilda Cooper and Becky Roberts; special friends, Joan Black and Mickie Massey and neighbor Gwen Johnson and a number of nieces and nephews.
