Helen 'Boot' Osborne

Obituary Date: Thursday, December 23, 2021

Helen “Boot” Osborne, a lifelong resident of Hall County, was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, and friend.

She went home to be with her Heavenly Father on December 23, 2021. She was preceded in death by both parents’ Ozell and Gladys Osborne, brothers John Osborne, Lamar Osborne, Leonard Osborne, Danny Osborne and sister Sarah Frances Colson. Helen is survived by her daughter: Angela (Johnny) Ricks three grandchildren Trahern Ricks, Tamar Ricks, Tahira Ricks and one great-grandson: Dominic Faulkner. Three brothers: Odell (Leona) Osborne, Leon (Tanger) Osborne, Michael Osborne and sister in law Patricia Osborne. Two sisters: Edna Young and Jackie Bromell. Special nephew: Maurice Colson. Special Aunt: Annie Lois Rakestraw. A host of many nieces, nephews, and friends. 

She was born on January 13, 1939. Later attending Northwestern School and Fair Street School. Helen served as a Center Director for Ninth District Opportunity Daycare for over 30 years. After retiring from serving children, she dedicated 10 more years to serving the elderly at The Oaks at Limestone Heritage. She often stated that helping people gave her more joy than anything else, and that is how she wants to be remembered as a helper of people. Helen loved her family dearly. She spent much of her time writing them loving letters and speaking blessings over each person at the end of every conversation.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 30, at Wimberly Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 31, at The Chapel @ Free Chapel Worship Center.
