Bruce Leon McCumber, age 75, of Keystone Heights, FL, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at North Florida Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, December 26, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Gainesville First Church of The Nazarene, with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Gary Huff will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, prior to the funeral service, beginning at noon at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Bruce was born September 5, 1946 in Arcadia, Florida to the late Rev. William E. McCumber and Doris M. McCumber. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. He retired in 2000 after a 30 year career in technology at AT&T. In recent years he faithfully served the church he loved in an administrative post at Gainesville First Church of the Nazarene.
He is remembered with love by his wife, Sandra Lynn Thrasher McCumber of Keystone Heights, Florida, his former wife Gail Boone and their children: daughter Donna Lynn and her husband, Brian Cerqua of Suwanee, Georgia, daughter Angela Gail and her husband John Lynch of Flowery Branch, Georgia, son, Bradley Edward of Kennesaw, Georgia, step-daughter and her husband Tiffany Lynn and Richard Morley of Snellville, Georgia, seven grandchildren, his brothers and their wives Larry and Renee McCumber of Jacksonville, Florida, Bill and Tamara McCumber of Gainesville, Georgia, Bert and Melinda McCumber of Murrayville, Georgia and his favorite sister Jean McCumber of Peoria Arizona.
