Billy Joe Sosebee

Billy Joe Sosebee, age 80, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Elennor Sosebee; brothers, Jerry Sosebee, Don and Amanda Sosebee; sister, Edith Hunter.  He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Geraldine Price Sosebee, Sugar Hill, GA; son, Zach (Heather) Sosebee, Sugar Hill, GA; grandsons, Jackson Sosebee, Seth Sosebee; brothers, Fred (Carolyn) Sosebee, Gainesville, GA, George (Wanda) Sosebee, Young Harris, GA,  Watson (Opalene) Stephens; sister, Jean Sosebee Thomas, Young Harris, GA; uncle, Allen Sosebee; sisters-in-law, Barbara Price Williams, Chamblee, GA, Ruth Jane Price, Buford, GA, Betty jo Price, Buford, GA; brother-in-law, Earl Hunter, Lilburn, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Mr. Sosebee was born on August 21, 1941 in Young Harris, GA.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a 1959 graduate of Towns County High School.  Mr. Sosebee also attended business college in Atlanta, GA.  He was retired from Tennaco Oil Company with over 18 years of service in sales.  He was a member of Belmont Baptist Church, Gainesville, GA and a member of American legion Post 127, Sugar Hill, GA.  Mr. Sosebee enjoyed hunting, gardening, and farming.  He also loved the Atlanta Braves baseball, Atlanta Falcon football and Georgia Tech football. 

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Belmont Baptist Church, Gainesville, GA with Rev. Bill Compton, Pastor of Belmont Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA.  A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021 with Military Honors at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA.
