Courtney Janet Goodell

Courtney Janet Goodell, 43, of Oakwood, GA, passed away on December 16, 2021.

Courtney was born in Newark, New York to David and Sharon Hand on March 15, 1978.  She married Rob Goodell on January 8, 2018 in Flowery Branch, Ga.  She graduated from State University of New York with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration.  She was also a graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Mercer University in Atlanta, GA.  She worked as a Registered Nurse and dedicated herself to care giving for 9 years in the North Georgia Community.  Throughout her college years Courtney was involved and named President of her sorority.  Courtney was a cancer survivor which drove her direction and passion in life to care for others.  She was most happy when she could help strays or any animal in need.  

Courtney is survived by her loving husband, Rob Goodell; father, David Hand; mother, Sharon Hand; brother, David, Jr.; sister, Melanie; sister-in-law, Charlie; her beloved cats, Quincy and Maggie Mae; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.  She is also survived by her father and mother-in-law, Robert and Cheryl Goodell; and sister and brother-in-law, Juan and Deana Morfa.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in Courtney’s honor to the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia.
