Fortino “Tony” Hernández Hernández

Mr. Fortino “Tony” Hernández Hernández, 40, of Clayton, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A small service will be held here with the date and time to be announced later. Mr. Fortino will go home to Mexico to be laid to rest.

Born on August 12, 1981, in Xilitla, San Luis Potosí, Mexico he was the son of Marcelino Hernández Estrella and of the late Natalia Hernández García.

In his work life Tony was a trim carpenter for Clay Contracting, where he was employed since 2007. Tony’s skill and patience made him a master craftsman and superior finish carpenter. He will be horribly missed by his work family for his craftsmanship, but mostly for his one-of-a-kind personality and sense of humor.

Tony was of the Catholic faith. He was preceded in death by Mamá, Natalia Hernández García and brother, Edgar Hernández Hernández.

Mr. Fortino is survived by Papá Marcelino Hernández Estrella; his siblings: María Rosario Hernández Hernández, Angélica Hernández Hernández, Jaime Antonio Hernández Hernández, Juan Hernández Hernández, Germán Hernández Hernández, Rolando Hernández Hernández, Melquiades Hernández Hernández

Marcelo Hernández Hernández; his daughters in Mexico: Mara Elizabeth Martínez Chavez, Yasmin Martínez Chavez, Yesica Marlen Hernández Martínez, Fortino also has many nieces and nephews and other extended family in México; Fiancé Veronica Phillips (Dohnert), and children Elizabeth, Elly May, and Everett Phillips.

He had many friends and loved ones he called family here in the U.S. as well.
