Ann Poole

Ann Poole, 72, of Flowery Branch, GA died Saturday, December 18, 2021. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 12 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 6 – 9 PM at the funeral home.

Ann Poole was born in Blue Island, Illinois and was raised predominately in south Florida and Georgia. She graduated from Osborne High School in Marietta, Georgia in 1968.

Ann married Edward Poole in December 1967.  They celebrated 54 years of marriage just before her death. Together, they have three children, Sherrie Ann Campbell, Edward John Poole and Kristen Kay Moon. Shortly after marriage, they moved to Florida for a brief period and then to North Carolina for employment. They remained in North Carolina for 11 years and then went back to Florida for 20 years.  Ironically, they moved back to North Carolina in 2003. In retirement, they chose to join their families in Georgia.

Ann worked in the healthcare industry in a variety of private doctor’s offices and hospitals until she had grandchildren. She loved meeting people and excelled at making people comfortable even when times were tough. But she loved taking care of her grandchildren more and counted down the days till she could retire!

Ann loved her church and loved singing in the choir. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. 

Ann is preceded in death by her father, Gordon Finlayson, mother, Annette Finlayson and her sister, Susan Williams.

Ann is survived by her husband, Edward Lee Poole, daughters, Sherrie Campbell and Kristen Moon, son, Edward John Poole, sons-in-law, Michael Campbell and Ryan Moon, grandchildren, Sabrina Campbell, Nicholas Campbell, Hannah Campbell, Matthew Graham Campbell, Edward Austin Poole, Haley Moon, Anna Kate Moon, Jack Moon, and Vivienne Moon.

Ann is also survived by her brother, Dr. Gordon Finlayson, of Gainesville, Florida.
