Glinda Ann William Blalock

Mrs. Glinda Ann William Blalock, 81, of Commerce, died on December 19, 2021 peacefully in her sleep at the home of her granddaughter, Holly Gaddis of Jefferson, Georgia.  There must have been a joyful reunion in Heaven with her husband of 51 years, George Thomas Blalock; parents, Griffin Williams and Beatrice Saxton; sister, Marian Wheless; nephews who were like sons, Wayne Powell and Tommy Watson; plus her beloved Australian sheepdog, Sadie.

Mrs. Blalock was born on July 10, 1940 in Athens, GA, and at the age of 14, she moved to Commerce, where she later met and married George Blalock.  In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Blalock was a dedicated private duty caregiver for over 30 years.  She loved Jesus and was a faithful member of Cabin Creek Baptist Church, Nicholson.

Mrs. Blalock’s family who will miss her deeply are her daughters, Beverly Blalock of Jefferson, and Cindy Stancil (Johnny) of Jefferson; grandchildren, Holly Gaddis of Jefferson; grandson, Jonathon Stancil (Jennifer) of Banks County; three-great grandsons, Chance, Kyler, and Knox Stancil; her sister’s children, Donna Sisk, Mitchell Wheless, and Kim Butler; niece-in-law, Janet Watson of Commerce; nephew, Josh Brockman (Abbie) of Jefferson; niece, Samantha Watson Rogers (Steven) of Winder.

Visitation will be held at Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce on Monday, December 20, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M.  A private burial will be held later at Nicholson Cemetery, with Rev. Troy Herbert officiating.

Pallbearers include Johnny Stancil, Jonathon Stancil, Chance Stancil, Kyler Stancil, Knox Stancil, Herman Stancil, and Travis Bright.
