Nell Carlisle English

Nell Carlisle English, 85 of Gainesville passed away Thursday December 16, 2021 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center-Gainesville Campus.

A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mrs. English was the daughter of the late William Ray and Ellie Mae Head Carlisle.  She was retired from the Hall County School system working in the lunchroom at McEver Elementary for over 35 years.  She also served as a pastor's wife for 41 years.  She also worked for Northeast Georgia Rentals. Mrs. English was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and the Christian Sunday School Class, Ms. Kay's class.

Survivors include her children, Rev. Garry and Gale English, Flowery Branch; Karen and Jeff Dale, Murrayville; Barry and Lisa English, Gainesville; Brian and Edie English, Lula; grandchildren, Slade and Emmy Dale, Spencer Dale, Andrew and Miranda English, Carly Dale and Alex Moore, Austin English, David English, Zach English, Sarah Beth English, Megan English, Daniel English, McKinzey English, great grandchildren, Hadley English and Abel English.

Mrs. English is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Rev. Edwin L. "Spud" English, 1 brother and 4 sisters.

Funeral services will be held Sunday December 19, 2021 at 3:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.  Rev. Stacy Phillips and Rev. Tim Biddy will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Chris Gilbert officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church Sunday December 19 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
