Mr. Wayne Norris Smallwood, 48, of Gainesville, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021 following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 17, 2021 from 2:00 -4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Born on May 24, 1973 in Cumming, he was the son of the late Carl Edward Smallwood and the late Judy Elaine Williams Carlan. Mr. Smallwood retired from the United States Army where he proudly served his country and an active member of the American Legion Post 7 in Gainesville. He was a member of Northside Family Worship Center.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Smallwood is preceded in death by his son, Sam T. Fagan; daughter, Rebekah Jo Smallwood; and brothers, Daryl Preston Smallwood, Stephen Lee Smallwood and Mitchell Dale Smallwood.
Mr. Smallwood is survived by his fiancé, Billie Jo “B.J.” Parrish of Gainesville; daughter, Nevaeh Starr Smallwood of Gainesville; son, Cody Preston Brown of Dahlonega; sister and brother in law, Angelia and Terry Willard of Union, SC; brother, Jeryle Edward Smallwood of Union, SC; brothers and sisters in law, Donald and Lisa Smallwood of Buford, GA, Virgil and Ami Smallwood of Sugar Hill, David and Stephanie Smallwood of Gainesville; sister, Tiffany Smallwood of Gainesville; sister, Penny Jones of Gainesville; Horace Smallwood of Gainesville; “Beloved” service dog, Koa and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
