Ottis Eugene Martin

Ottis Eugene Martin age 81 of Gainesville, GA passed away on December 4, 2021.  Mr. Martin was a long- time resident of the area and spent most of his life doing construction. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and loved watching and rooting for his grandchildren’s sports teams; mainly his “Miners” baseball team.

Mr. Martin is preceded by his parents Ottis Martin and Nettie Carlise Martin, brother Egbert Martin and step-son Kenneth Woody.

Mr. Martin is survived by his life long partner Mildred Woody, special grandchildren Julie (Jason Cantrell) Armstrong, Chad (Mary) Armstrong, Eric (Melanie Whelch) Armstrong; special great grandchildren, Hailey Abercrombie, Camron Journigan, Logan Journigan, Jax Armstrong; siblings Sara Wilson, Randy Martin, Jerrell Martin, Jo Hulsey, Joan Ledford, Ann Dotson, and Elizabeth Crane. Children Kat (Junior) Armstrong and Kathy (Larry) Burnett, Angie Jackson, Tammy Miller, Renaee Bozeman, Mandy Burnett, Bobby Burnett, Calvin Miller, Magnum Miller, and Jessica Dowdy; grandchildren Zack Burnett, Tiffany Tatum, Heather Tatum, Brittany Evans and Conner Burnett; special great-great-grandson Kayson Drum and one on the way.

Family will receive friends on Monday December 6, 2021 from 3pm until 9pm, Tuesday December 7, 2021 from 12pm-3pm and 6pm-9pm, and on Wednesday December 8, 2021 from 1pm until 2pm. Funeral Service will follow at 2pm in the chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Wauka Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery in Clermont, Georgia.
