Beulah Lillie Fowler of Sugar Hill gained her wings and flew away on December 5, 2021 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert E Fowler, parents Florence and William Patterson, son-in-law Robert E Hurt III, sisters Jessie Tinsley and Grace Wheeler, brother-in-law Allen Fowler and sister-in-law Dorothy Fowler.
She is survived by her daughters Susan (Rusty) Whitt and Sandra Hurt; grandchildren Dustin (Esther) and Eddie Whitt; great grandchildren Anderson, Grason, and Charleston Whitt; sister-in-law Annelle (Johnny) Stripland and brother-in-law Fred Fowler.
Beulah was born in Cumming, GA and graduated as salutatorian from Forsyth County High School in the class of 1947/48. Faith, family and community were the guideposts of Beulah’s life. Beulah was a member of First Baptist Church of Sugar Hill where she remained active until more recent years. She was a faithful visitor to those in assisted living and nursing homes where she later became a resident at Brookdale Senior Living of Buford. She was a kind and gentle spirit who taught her daughters through illnesses and adversity during her long life her tenacity to survive through faith. She maintained her same great attitude and desire to live and serve until the end.
Bobby and Beulah enjoyed traveling with their RV and camping with friends and family especially at Unicoi Springs in Helen. They also were avid Atlanta Braves fans.
The family will receive visitors Saturday, December 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Flanigan Funeral Home and a service will be held at 1:00 in the Chapel of Flanigan’s Funeral Home. Burial will be at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in a private graveside service with the family.
In honor of Miss Beulah and her love of the Braves, feel free to attend visitation and/or the service in your favorite Braves T-shirt or pearls.
