Douglas James Mason

Douglas James Mason, 69, of Dawsonville, GA passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021, after a brief illness.  He was born in Duluth, GA to the late E.J. and Claudine Mason.  Doug was of the Baptist Faith.  He had a love of working on cars, mud racing, hunting, and fishing.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.  Doug was a loving husband, father and grandfather. 

He is preceded in death by an infant daughter and sister, Diane Mabrey.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sonja Mason of Dawsonville, GA; children, Marie Mason Pace of Dawsonville, GA, Tim Mason of Dawsonville, GA; grandchildren, Cody Mason and Haley Greenway, Jocelyn and her mother Michelle mason; great granddaughter, Peyton Mason; brothers, Dennis and Betty Mason of Canton, GA, Ricky Mason of Cumming, GA; sisters, Carol Peardon of Ballground, GA, Faye Mason and Tony Lee of Ballground, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021at 12:00 p.m. at the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend John Boyd officiating.  Interment will follow the funeral at Roswell City Cemetery, Roswell, GA.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 – 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
