David Collier Cowart, age 81 of Suwanee, GA passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto Cowart and Gladys Hardin Cowart; step-daughter, Cheryl Waltz. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Joyce Hallmark Cowart; daughters, Stephanie (Jimmy) Franklin; Jenifer (Lynn) Skelton; step-daughters, Dawn (Eddie) Goolsby, Joy (Dwight) Rich; step-son, Brent (Michelle) Hickman; son-in-law, Mark Waltz; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons; brother, Stephen (Suzanne) Cowart; nephew, Michael Cowart. Mr. Cowart was born on November 17, 1940 in Atlanta, GA. He was a 1958 graduate of Brown High School, Atlanta, GA. Mr. Cowart was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from Landstar Trucking. He attended Georgia Tech in Atlanta. He was a member of Sugarloaf United Methodist Church, Duluth, GA. Mr. Cowart enjoyed reading, singing in a choral group and traveling. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Sugarloaf United Methodist Church, Duluth, GA with Pastor Heather Jallad officiating. Interment will follow with a Graveside Service at 3:00 p.m. at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA.
