Mr. Floyd Douglas “Doug” Sims, age 78, of Buford, GA passed away Friday, November 26, 2021. He lived a full life, died peacefully in his sleep, and is now restored and resting easy in the arms of God. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Doty Sims, his brother, Jerry Sims, and both of his parents, Howard and Catherine Sims. He is survived by his children, Stacy and Brad Padgett (Cumming, GA), Shannon and Kerry Skelton (Buford, GA); grandchildren, Caleb Padgett, Clay Padgett and Kadie Skelton; brother and sister in law, Mike and Lisa Moore (Snellville, GA) and sister in law, Martha Sims (Talking Rock, GA); first cousin Robin Lohman (Jacksonville, FL); and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Sims was born April 9, 1943, in Atlanta, GA. He attended John B. Gordon Grammar School, East Atlanta High School, and graduated from West Georgia College, in 1965, where he received his Bachelors Degree. Mr. Sims worked in the electronics industry in both sales and management positions, until retirement. He is a member of Sugar Hill United Methodist Church, now known as Church on the Hill (4600 Nelson Brogdon Boulevard, Buford, GA), and a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He was devoted husband father, grandfather, and friend to so many! Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at 2pm, at Church on The Hill, with Reverend Dr. Jeffery Coleman officiating. There will be a visitation and reception, at the church, immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Church on The Hill, in memory of Doug Sims.
