Eulus Edward Chambers

Mr. Eulus Edward Chambers, age 83 of Jefferson, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021 at his home surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Memorial Park South Chapel. Rev. Richard Moon will officiate with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mr. Chambers was born May 25, 1938 to the late Luther Samuel & Lila Lorene Chambers in Pine Mountain, Georgia. He attended Maranatha Baptist Church in Jefferson. Ed worked as a diesel mechanic at Carolina Freight for 22 years. He then worked at ABF until his retirement 3 years later. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Ed loved being outdoors and working in his yard. Family was very important to him and he cherished all the memories they made together. He began each day by reading from the Bible, together with JoAnn, as they had done for many years. His family will always remember him as an easy man to look up to and a hard man to live up to.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Chambers; daughter & son-in-law, Dianne Chambers Pate & David Pate of Gainesville, GA; daughter, Cecelia Denise Chambers of Perry, GA; step-children, Chris & Angie Smith of Buford, GA; Sharee Ayers of Buford, GA; and Kevin & Charlene Smith of Jefferson, GA; sisters, Glenda Strickland of Macon,GA; sister & brother-in-law, Carol & Larry Dinkins of Jefferson, GA; sister & brother-in-law, Mary & Andy Witherington of Warner Robins, GA; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Eulus Edward Chambers, Jr; brothers, L.D Chambers, James Chambers, and Lynwood Chambers; and sister, Verlyn Anderson.
